1. Azalia Banks, Kelis and Nicki Minaj
Azalia Banks, Kelis and Nicki Minaj all attended LaGuardia High School of Music and Art in New York before making it big.
2. Kendrick Lamar and Dr Dre
Dr Dre attended Centennial High School in Compton during his freshman year in 1979 and as a teenager, Kendrick Lamar went to the same school (he was a straight A student!).
3. Jay Z, Busta, DMX and Biggie
Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, The Notorious B.I.G and DMX all attended George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School in downtown Brooklyn. Jay Z and Busta even had a freestyle rap battle in the school lobby... And Jay Z won.
4. Warren G, Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg, Warren G and the late Nate Dogg first met in 1986 at Long Beach Polytechnic High School and later went on to form the hip-hop group 213. At Nate's funeral Snoop commented on their first meeting, saying: “We didn’t know each other, but the music connected us. We built a brotherhood, a friendship.”
5. Outkast
OutKast's André 3000 and Big Boi met in 1992 at Tri-Cities High School in East Point, Georgia. And thanks to their mutual love for rap, 1970's funk and hip-hop groups such as De La Soul, they joined forces and released their debut album 'Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik' in 1994.
6. Cam'ron and Ma$e
Cam'ron and Ma$e attended Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics and were both promising basketball players. They went onto form hip-hop group Children Of The Corn alongside Big L, Herb McGruff and Bloodshed. Sadly the group split following the death of Bloodshed but Cam'ron and Ma$e went onto form solo careers.
7. Foxy Brown and Lil Kim
They may have never seen eye to eye - despite sharing the cover of The Source magazine in 1997 - but Lil Kim and Foxy Brown actually went to Brooklyn College Academy together.
8. De La Soul
De La Soul's Posdnuos, Dave and Maseo all met at Amityville Memorial High School in Long Island, New York. And after their demo tape of 'Plug Tunin' caught the attention of record producer Prince Paul they began working on their 1989 debut album, '3 Feet High and Rising'.
9. Mobb Deep
Mobb Deep's Havoc and Prodigy were classmates at the High School of Art and Design in New York City. In 1993 they released their debut album but their most notable success came from their second album 'The Infamous' released in 1995.
10. Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller
Like Wiz Khalifa, rapper Mac Miller attended Taylor Allderdice High School. And since then the Pittsburgh pair have collaborated on 'Cruise Control' and 'Goin Places'.
11. Fugees
Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel of the Fugees met while studying at Columbia High School in South Orange, New Jersey and soon began rapping together. They later joined forces with Pras' cousin, Wyclef Jean and went onto release their debut album in 1993 called 'Blunted on Reality'.
12. Lil Jon and T.I.
Both Lil Jon and T.I. attended Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia. But the rappers only officially crossed paths when they collaborated in 2003 on T.I.'s track 'Stand Up'.
